CLIENT's Overview
This was one of the best hotel visits I’ve had. The cottages are a marvel, with modern amenities, AC, and hot water bottles are slipped into the beds at night, to warm you on the cold nights. Gorilla Heights gets even more delighful when you walk onto the cottage decks and drink in the 360 degree views of the magical Bwindi Forest. In the evenings, the spa and heated swimming pool will wash away your weariness after gorilla tracking, and the staff give gracious, quality service too. All in all, it was a weekend well spent. -Dora

More about Gorilla Heights Lodge:
ROOMS: There is 1 Family, 5 Deluxe and 9 Standard cottages. All cottages are delicately woven with modern architecture and African design, to create the ultimate blend of luxury.
The lodge occupies the axis of Nkuringo, a gently sloping hill that soars at cloud level, sitting at 2,100meters above sea level. That is why many who have been here remember it as the highest vantage point in the Southern wing of Bwindi. The horizon, as seen from the lodge, hovers over the park’s forest canopy, creating a surprising blend of a blue & green hued skyline. The cherry on the cake is the view of Virunga’s jagged mountain ranges that straddle Uganda’s borders with Congo and Rwanda.
SPA: The IK spa isn’t a place you just dip in for a weekend, it is about total immersion and turning your lifestyle around in the purest yet most polished surroundings. Its fully fledged and offers steam, sauna and massage treats that are focused on emotional, physical, spiritual and mental therapy. You will certainly need a dose of all these after a long day’s adventure in Bwindi, especially gorilla trekking. That is why our spa is staffed with talented therapists and masseurs who are more than a match for the lodge’s impressive natural surroundings.
STAFF: Most of our lodge’s staff are sourced from the communities living around the park as a way of providing alternative income to locals. The main objective is to reduce the dependence of locals wildlife trade. If you wish to support locals from the neighboring communities, the gift shop here gives you the perfect opportunity to buy locally crafted souvenirs and mementos for your loved ones. All products are fair trade, ethically sourced, and support various community based initiatives.
