The Observatory is a holiday home/safari lodge perched on top of the Kichwamba escarpment overlooking Queen Elizabeth National Park. It allows you to enjoy clear views of Lakes, Nyamusingire, Edward and George, the Kazinga channel, herds of elephants crossing and if weather permits, the Mountains of the Moon without having to pay the park fees every day.
It is a self catering accommodation facility.
Guest Review:
This place is just as beautiful as the photos suggest. This morning I saw 36 elephants walking in the valley below as I sipped coffee in front of the lodge! You might think that that is the best part of staying here, but you would be wrong.
The best part is that if you hire the chef that is available, you will have the most amazing meals you can find in Uganda. They asked me exactly what I wanted, bought the ingredients and made it fresh. The pineapple was so fresh and delicious that they should not call it by the same name as the pineapple in the States. The meals were even plated beautifully. I seriously doubt there is a restaurant in Kampala that could compete with the meals I got here. The value of that chef at the price I paid is impossible to exaggerate.
