In the afternoon, transfer to the Top of the Falls, where the entire volume of the Nile is forced through a rocky gorge barely seven metres wide before plunging nearly 45 metres in a roaring, spray-drenched cascade.

June to September (long dry season): The best overall time. Game drives at Murchison Falls are outstanding with animals concentrated near water. Rhino trekking at Ziwa is easier in drier grassland. December to February (short dry season): Excellent alternative with dry trails across all destinations. Strong game viewing at Murchison. Gorilla sightings year-round. Good value option compared to peak season.
